I take a biodynamic approach to bodywork, which means I let the healing priority of the client's body direct the session. Rather than a menu-style approach in which the client pays for a certain style or modality such as deep tissue massage, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic massage, TMJ release, stretching, etc., body therapy sessions with me typically blend and meander among these styles in response to what the client's system is doing. With awareness and good listening, we navigate through various aspects, layers and anatomical subsystems of the body. There is an ease and a natural faith that grows through this process. Clients are able to learn through felt experience how it is their own bodies that are doing the healing.
I like the way Deepak Chopra describes the body as a process. "There are no nouns in the universe". When we experience the dynamic, living process in our bodies we discover the ease of life we are all seeking.
"For as long as I remember, I have inhabited the rigid, frightened “dead” body of a severely traumatized woman. Through my work with Ginger, I have learned that my body is so much more than the contractions it holds in response to what happened to me. She has helped me experience it as strong and responsive and fluid and alive.
What most draws me to Ginger, and what is most relaxing and safe about her, is that we don’t have “healing sessions,” where she’s the healer with all the knowledge and well-being to bestow and I’m the person to be healed. We have genuine, heartfelt, human-to-human conversations, both the spoken ones and the silent ones. She listens to me, is genuinely curious about my experience and her own, and asks and answers questions that help me find a deeper knowing. She respects what’s hard for me, but she doesn’t turn away from it. Instead, it becomes a starting point, an opportunity for us to become curious about where there are openings for exploration and release of old holding patterns and wounds.
Ginger knows a lot about the body/mind and she is strong and gifted healthcare practitioner. But it is her ability to bring all of her knowing and experience to a session that makes this kind of deep opening possible for me. I love her, and I trust her. I think you will too." Emma
"Ginger is one of the best massage therapists I have ever been to, and I have had a LOT of massage! She is extremely powerful yet gentle. I relax the moment she touches me and she has helped me through some very difficult times. I highly recommend her as a massage therapist." Barbara
"You will not find a better massage therapist in the area. I have used her services for a couple of years and have sent friends and family to her as well. A true professional with excellent training and a desire to help." Norm
