I practice Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, TMJ Release and Deep Tissue Restorative Massage and I teach yoga/movement with a strong focus on developing body awareness and being a good friend to ourselves. Since 2005, when I began working in the field of body-centered therapy, I have benefited greatly from a longer practice of self-healing through open body awareness which was introduced to me in the form of Vipassana meditation in 2002. When I learned about this ancient method it occurred to me that I had been doing my own version of this secretly since I was a child and needing to heal from trauma that I didn't know how to talk about. I understand how we can live many decades working through things on our own and I am called to help people along their way to reclaiming their freedom of movement and creativity.
What I bring to my clients is the perspective of my personal experience along with anatomically oriented healing modalities that bring real results in people's lives.
In Spring 2018 I will complete a two year training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, which takes my work to the heart of our capacity to heal. "Biodynamic" means "physical movement" or "dynamics of living systems" and with this profound modality I learn how our body system organizes around trauma to promote the healthiest version of ourselves possible. Much like other deep healing approaches for trauma and chronic issues, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy invites the body/mind right into the present moment and holds the door open for profound changes to occur and integrate.
I look forward to the chance to work with you. Please contact me with any questions and feel free to schedule right away. Thanks!
"For as long as I remember, I have inhabited the rigid, frightened “dead” body of a severely traumatized woman. Through my work with Ginger, I have learned that my body is so much more than the contractions it holds in response to what happened to me. She has helped me experience it as strong and responsive and fluid and alive.
What most draws me to Ginger, and what is most relaxing and safe about her, is that we don’t have “healing sessions,” where she’s the healer with all the knowledge and well-being to bestow and I’m the person to be healed. We have genuine, heartfelt, human-to-human conversations, both the spoken ones and the silent ones. She listens to me, is genuinely curious about my experience and her own, and asks and answers questions that help me find a deeper knowing. She respects what’s hard for me, but she doesn’t turn away from it. Instead, it becomes a starting point, an opportunity for us to become curious about where there are openings for exploration and release of old holding patterns and wounds.
Ginger knows a lot about the body/mind and she is strong and gifted healthcare practitioner. But it is her ability to bring all of her knowing and experience to a session that makes this kind of deep opening possible for me. I love her, and I trust her. I think you will too." Emma
"Ginger is one of the best massage therapists I have ever been to, and I have had a LOT of massage! She is extremely powerful yet gentle. I relax the moment she touches me and she has helped me through some very difficult times. I highly recommend her as a massage therapist." Barbara
"You will not find a better massage therapist in the area. I have used her services for a couple of years and have sent friends and family to her as well. A true professional with excellent training and a desire to help." Norm
